WarmMeUp

Start your site quicker after a build with this tiny tool.

Features

This small program warms up a web site by doing a single http request. When you add this program to the post build event in Visual Studio you can save time by starting the site as fast as possible after a build.

Installation with Nuget

Install WarmMeUp from EPiServer's Nuget feed

Then do the following:

  • Open your project and go to properties (right click the project in "Solution Explorer" and choose properties)
  • Click the "Build Events" tab and add the following line in the "Post-buil event command line:" text box:
$(ProjectDir)WarmMeUp\WarmMeUp.exe http://localhost/

(Update the url to the correct value)

Installation without Nuget

Download WarmMeUp-1.1.zip and extract WarmMeUp.exe to c:\WarmMeUp\ (or some other path)

  • Open your project and go to properties (right click the project in "Solution Explorer" and choose properties)
  • Click the "Build Events" tab and add the following line in the "Post-buil event command line:" text box:
c:\warmmeup\warmmeup.exe http://localhost/
