Gadget visible but not working

I can add the gadget to the dashboard but nothing shows and when clicking Administer an error occurs. Looking in the EPiServer log files I can see the following error:

We're running a EPiServer 7.1 CMs WebForms application, this seems to be Mvc connected so I don't know if somethings is missing since we run the WebForms application.
