Ability to export properties to xml file

Reported by: steve@… Owned by: steve@…
Priority: major Component: EPiPageTypeUtil
Keywords: Cc: cdacos@…

Description

The PageTypeUtil component can import properties defined in an xml file, which makes it easy to include a set of properties on many page types.

However, creating the xml file can be a tedious process, and prone to error.

We need a way to export one or more properties from a specific page type to an xml file with a name specified by the user.

Requirements:

  • Select one or more properties to export (with "Select All/None" link too)
  • Must handle custom property types (with assembly bindings)
  • Saves the file to the same directory specified for imports in web.config
  • Handles write-denied gracefully

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

There is now an "Export" link on the Pagetype Utility page for each page type. Clicking this link loads a page with the poperties listed. Checkboxes allow selection of which properties to export to the XML file. ("Select All" and "Select None" options also exist.)

Write permission needed for application process user to the folder used by Configuration VirtualImportDirectory. (The page reports an "access denied" error if write not allowed.)
