Allow wildcards in custom redirects

Reported by: steve@… Owned by: steve@…
Priority: major Component: 404Handler
Keywords: regular expression wildcard Cc:

Description

Today:

<old>/templates/page.aspx?id=1234</old>
<new>/travel</new>

This would be nice:

<old>/templates/page____[????].aspx</old>
<old>/templates/page.aspx?id=[????]</old>
<new>/templates/page2.aspx?id=[0]</new>

This could be solved by using regular expressions. The tricky part is moving the parameters from the source to the target, but some research on regular expressions should help.

See the 404Handler for examples on how to do wildcard matching. Not done exactly like described here, but it solves most cases.
